Biography I
Anna Mary was the third child born into the Robertson family in 1860. There would eventually be ten children in the family. She was raised on a farm, attended school for a while, then when she was 12 years old she left home to become a hired hand at a near-by farm… When she was in her late seventies she decided to take up painting which was easier on her hands than needlework. Her first painting was made using housepaint.

The Old Checkered House 1862 painted in 1942, was valued at the Memphis 2004 Antiques Roadshow. The painting which originally sold for under $10 in the 1940s was assigned an insurance value of $60,000 by roadshow appraiser, Alan Fausel.
