Mr. Picasso Head – Interactive Activity
Mr. Picasso Head allows kids to create their own cubist-style portrait using Picasso features. Choose a face, eyes, nose and more! Change the colors, resize, flip, or rotate each feature. When your portrait is complete, sign it and add it to the Mr. Picasso Head Gallery.

Paint Your Own Picasso – Interactive Activity
Paint Your Own Picasso is an online activity that allows kids to select cubist facial features, drag them to the pre-drawn face and arrange them until everything looks perfect. Then pick up a color and color your Picasso face. When you are finished, you can print your masterpiece.

Picasso Art Masterpiece Cookies

Create a Cubist Montage
This art project help kids to understand that cubist works show the same thing from several sides at the same time. Kids will create a cubist work with magazine clippings, assembling and gluing eyes, hair, noses and lips from multiple angles.

Scissors
Glue
Paper for Base of the Collage

Albert Bierstadt Biography
Albert Bierstadt (BEER stat) was born in Prussia, which was a large German state. (This land today is in Germany, Poland, and Russia.) He came to America with his parents when he was two years old.  As he grew up, he taught himself to paint. Then he decided to go to Dusseldorf, Germany to study with a group of artists. They toured Europe. Bierstadt first started painting landscapes in Europe, then he came to America.

Norman Rockwell | Homeschool Art Lesson Resources

Biography I
Norman Rockwell was born in New York City, but his family would spend summers on the farm. He was not athletic and could not play ball as well as his brother. All he could really do well was draw pictures, and he spent a lot of time drawing. His parents saw he had talent and arranged for him to take art lessons. Every Saturday he would travel two hours by trolley and subway to get to the art school. He dropped out of high school to attend an art academy. In 1912 he illustrated a handbook for the Boy Scouts and drew the pictures for Boy Scout calendars. He also drew illustrations for advertisements such as insurance, toothpaste, etc.

Claude Monet (CLAWD maw NEH) was born in Paris, France. Even as a young teenager it became apparent that he had artistic ability. He would draw caricatures of his teachers on his schoolwork. A caricature is a drawing that represents the person, but certain features will be exaggerated, or made larger than they actually are. He began to charge people to draw their caricatures and was able to have a steady income and even save some money.
