Masterwork Watercolor Art Projects for Kids

Painting art masterworks is a great way for kids to become introduced to and connected with the work of our greatest artists.  The following links represent a collection of art projects for kids that make this goal possible.

Here a few tips on the watercolor supplies you will need:

Watercolor Paint Box
Invest in a student watercolor set made by Prang or Reeves, for example. The colors will be much more pleasing than what you will see from a Wal-Mart set.

Watercolor Paper
Watercolor paper is heavier than computer paper so that it can take a soaking. You can buy cheap paper, though make sure it’s 140lb. weight, so that it will stay relatively flat when it gets wet.

Watercolor Paint Brush
Your watercolor set may come with a paint brush, It not, a medium round brush is a great one to get started with.

Watercolor Pallet
A paper plate covered with plastic wrap will provide a great pallet on which to mix colors.

Each of the following projects are ideal for the 2nd-8th grade art students, or anyone want to learn a few basic skills.

Degas Ballerina
